Guest Testimonials of Nicks Hidden Cottages

We decided to stay in Ubud to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. After our 23 hour flight from the U.S. we were exahausted and arrived in the middle of the night to this hotel. Nick's hidden cottages is in Ubud, about an hour from the airport in Bail. Even at night we were blown away when we arrived. This hotel is down a small dirt path (hence nick's "hidden" cottages) The front of the property is surrounded by rice fields and the back of the property is the jungle. Our room had a balcony over looking the jungle/pool. I have never been anywhere so amazing. The pool is an oasis. The property was quiet and green and we ate out in the open air restaurant that is surrounded by the jungle for breakfast every morning. Each room is air conditioned and the staff was very friendly. As secluded as the hotel seems, it was only a 10 minute walk to the monkey forest and into town for shopping. Email me if you would like pictures of this amazing place, it's a gem that many people have not discovered and we were truly glad to stay here for a week. Not for those who want night life and parties, this place is good for relaxing/ swimming/ walking into town to explore the real indonesia.

"Nick's Hidden" is in a private location only minutes down a bumpy track from the centre of Ubud. Park your car/scooter across the track and then walk down a narrow path through rice paddies to reach the hotel. it is a quiet, quirky place with comfortable rooms, a delighful swimming pool and tranquil views of the rainforest reaching up from the river valley below. The staff were welcoming and very attentive. While not for those looking for 5 star (no TV etc), or carrying lots of luggage, Nick's Hidden evokes a feeling of being in touch with the surroundings, particularly when heading out through the rice paddies in the early morning sunlight or returning after dark with just the footpath lights to show the way. Chill out!

"Only a 10 minute walk from the centre of Ubud. The access road is very poor but the hotel location is good, overlooking the stream/river valley. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is very quiet and suited us well"

"Nice location within the rice fields (hotel arrangement charming). A little bit remote from the center (the Bisma Ubud street is not asphalted up to the hotel). No restaurent facilities. Service ok, kind and efficient. This hotel is a little expensive for such standard. "

"rooms are basic but clean with a balcony, but towels and carpets with holes ; light breakfast ; isolated in the middle of rice paddies (15 minutes walk from the center), very quiet and typical in a tropical garden, nice people ; in fact good value for the price"
